📍 Adelaide | 🗓️ 8–11 February 2027

Emerging Technologies Conference (ETC2027) will be held in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, known for its accessibility, safety, and vibrant cultural and innovation ecosystem. The city offers a compact layout, making it easy to navigate between venues, accommodation, and key attractions.

Getting to Adelaide

Adelaide is well connected internationally and domestically via Adelaide Airport, located approximately 15–20 minutes from the city centre. Direct and connecting flights are available from major global hubs, including Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Dubai, and Doha.

Taxis, rideshare services, and airport shuttle buses provide convenient transport into the city. Public transport options are also available and cost-effective.

Getting Around

Adelaide’s city centre is highly walkable, and most conference activities, hotels, and dining options are within close proximity. The free tram service within the CBD makes it easy to move between key locations, while additional tram and bus routes connect to surrounding areas.

Attendees may also consider multi-day public transport passes for convenience if travelling beyond the city centre.

Accommodation

We recommend booking early due to high demand during February. Attendees are encouraged to choose accommodation within the CBD for easy access to conference venues and events. A wide range of accommodation options are available within the Adelaide CBD, catering to different budgets and preferences, including:

  • Premium hotels
  • Mid-range business hotels
  • Serviced apartments
  • Budget-friendly stays

Visa Information (International Attendees)

International attendees may require a visa to enter Australia. Most visitors can apply for a short-term visa such as a Visitor Visa (subclass 600) or an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA), depending on their country of residence. Official invitation letters can be provided upon request to support visa applications.

We strongly recommend:

  • Checking visa requirements well in advance via the Australian Department of Home Affairs;
  • Applying at least 6–8 weeks before travel;
  • Ensuring your passport is valid for the duration of your stay.

Currency & Payments

The local currency is the Australian Dollar (AUD). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, and contactless payments are common across Adelaide.

Weather & What to Pack

February is summer in Adelaide, with typical daytime temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C. Light clothing is recommended, along with sun protection such as hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Conference venues are air-conditioned, so bringing a light jacket is advisable.

Health & Safety

Adelaide is considered one of Australia’s safest cities. Standard travel precautions are recommended, and emergency services are accessible by dialing 000.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all international attendees.

Explore Adelaide

Attendees are encouraged to extend their stay and explore local attractions, including:

  • Cultural precincts and museums
  • Coastal beaches such as Glenelg
  • World-class wine regions like McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley
